Q. What is WisdomTap product search?
A. WisdomTap product search is a revolutionary search engine to help you find the best products for your needs. It distills opinions on products expressed by Expert Contributors on the best web communities, and allows you to find products based on your unique needs.
Q. How do I use WisdomTap product search?
A. You can start by entering search terms into the search box, and clicking the "Find" button. Enter the criteria you have in mind to find your product, such as product names, brands, what you want to use it for, or product features. We have also provided a helpful term picker to help you select what you want to use the product for, and product features which are important for you. You can also restrict your search to a particular set of Brands, and price range. After picking these terms, click on the "Find" button.
Q. How do I intepret the search results?
A. Once you have initiated your search, the WisdomTap displays a set of products which best match your search terms. Further, these products are categorized into similar types, such as "Digital SLRs, Lenses, and Point and Shoot". Every product also has the WisdomRank overall score for the search, and the individual scores for every search term. Clicking on a particular product will take you to a web page with detailed information on the product. If you like, you can select and compare products side by side by clicking on the "select to compare" link, and the "compare" button.
Q. How do I intepret the product details page?
A. When you visit the product details page, we provide a concise, one-stop location to get all the information on the product you're interested in.
- You see an image of the product, with the value of two of its key features.
- On the top right, a graphic provides an overview of how many Experts provided positive and negative opinions on the product.
- Below this, opinions expressed by Experts on the suitability of the products for various usage scenarios are presented. You can expand or collapse these groups of opinions by clicking on the expand/collapse buttons. These opinions are grouped by usage scenarios.
- At the bottom of the page, upto three graphs visually depict usage ratings for similar products.
- Finally, the "Product Features" tab shows opinions expressed by Experts on the key product features.

A. WisdomTap product search uses patent pending technologies to find the best product communities on the web (forums, blogs, review sites, mailing lists). It visits and analyzes the opinions expressed by the various contributors of these communities. It then distills these opinions using sophisticated techniques to identify products, how they are used, how they performed, and the expertise of the contributors.
